North Western Shipping and Towage

Tasports’ NWS&T offers a range of tug and towage services throughout Tasmania.

Tasports has three tug crews located in the North West, servicing Burnie, Devonport and Port Latta, a further three crews in Hobart, who also look after Triabunna and three crews at Inspection Head servicing Bell Bay.

Each tug crew comprises a Master, engineer and one or two deckhands. All deckhands are experienced and qualified with coxswain’s certificates allowing them to handle the smaller lines boats. Tasports crews are some of the most highly skilled in Australia.

Tasports’ towage and tug services include:

• Harbour towage throughout Tasmania
• Tug assistance with difficult ship manoeuvring, including movement between berths
• Tug and barge operations
• Coastal and offshore towage and barging
• Salvage and lifting at sea
